A Second Wedding
Bride and Groom arrived on a motorbike to an awaiting crowd of well
wishers. Set in a beautiful natural garden setting, the only adornment
necessary to set the scene was a lace and satin covered signing table
holding a bouquet of flowers consisting of Bird of Paradise, lilies and
banksia.
Bride and bridesmaids wore cocktail dresses with frangipanis adorning
their hair. Groom, Best man and small Groomsman (Grandson) wore
tropical green shirts with frangipani print. No official photographer was
present, but photos were taken by family, guests and friends.
Reception was held at the Railway Hotel for 55 guest with table
decorations consisting of a black runner, palm leaves, $10 worth of tea
candles and $5 worth of silk flowers. Even though very simple and cost
minimal, the effect was quite extraordinary. Guests were treated to a
three course alternate drop a la carte meal, then a live band with bride
providing some vocals.
Total cost $2000.00
Fairymead House
Held at Fairymead House on the verandah overlooking the Japanese garden
and ponds, poles were wrapped in tulle, vine and roses. A lavish affair, the
Bride walked down a red carpet lined with topiary trees and two big erns of
flowers, resting on sandstone pillars.
Reception followed at Burnett Riverside Conference Room, overlooking the
pool and river. Room was decked out in burgundy and gold colour theme,
chairs covered with white linen and golden sashes. Tables were laid with
white and burgundy napkins, a rose and vine covered gold candelabra
centre piece, gold place cards, rolled up order of service, champagne
flutes and finished off with burgundy and gold scatters.
This created a beautiful opulent ambience in the room. Guests were treated
to a four course silver service banquet with a Disk Jockey providing after
dinner entertainment for all to enjoy.
